RíOrganized: James Charles Makeup Storage
This project was next level amazing. Being asked to organize James Charles’ makeup wall is like getting the opportunity to organize Gordon Ramsay’s spices or Martha Stewart’s crafts.

Before
After
Even though it was huge, our approach to this project was the same as any other space and the outcome was curated for James and his beauty organization needs. His previous system was not ideal and consisted of a lot of catch-all bins that made searching for items a pain and maintaining tidy spaces nearly impossible.
There was no purging needed for this space so we got to jump right into sorting/categorizing and space planning right away. I love how involved James was with this process because it helped us be sure we were delivering exactly what he wanted. Understanding his makeup process was crucial to be sure we were creating a system that made sense for him.
On the first day of the project we were able to wrap our head around the inventory and designate homes for each item. Once we had everything placed in the area we wanted it to live, sourcing the right product is much easier!
The space was set up in the order James applies his makeup and body products. Spa-like body and skincare to kick things off, followed by face, eyes, lips, drag and tanning!
Enter: the Onyx Collection by iDesign!
This collection was able to help us create functional, yet elevated, spaces for James. The thick acrylic looks crisp, clean and luxurious.
One big bonus to this project was the amount of space we had to work with. We were able to display his makeup in a way that gave the items breathing room and also gave the space room to grow!
We added a drawer liner to secure the organizers/products within each drawer to assure nothing would be sliding around. The Onyx lip station works for more than just lipstick—the size of the slots worked perfectly to store some of the foundations, glitter tubes, concealers and of course, lipstick. We also used an expandable spice organizer for some foundations—a fun way to display items! The turntables worked perfectly for items like skincare and tanning—they allow you to place a lot on shelf but still keep everything easily accessible. Drawer organizers were used to create clear homes for items like face, eye, and glitter makeup.
Different products call for different organization solutions and that’s ok! It is all about how everything comes together. This project was all the glitter and glam that we could have dreamed of and we are so grateful for the opportunity!
