Adding Storage to Your Pantries
One of my favorite storage solutions: pantries. We personally have two pantries in our house, but because of the layout, we needed more storage.
I wanted these spaces to be functional for our family, and we had not yet established lasting systems in either one. I decided to tackle this project right before my kids went back-to-school this fall!
Pantry #1
One pantry goes under our main staircase and has shorter shelves, so I turned this one into more of the kid’s zone. The other pantry has higher shelves, so I used that one for serving pieces as well as dinner and baking items.
Of course, we needed more space than just the shelving in the pantries. The solution was to add my favorite over-the-door units. I recently shared a reel sharing these babies in action! They give so much extra storage to any space in your home.
In the unit, I used my label maker to section off the baskets for snacks, bars, gummies, and more. Then, inside the pantry, we had two drawer systems that we use for kids’ plates, bowls, and cups.
Lastly, I have breakfast and lunch items in this pantry as well as overstock.
Pantry #2
As mentioned before, I have my serving pieces in the other pantry, but I needed more space for dinner and baking items. The shelves were getting too crowded, and I had two blank walls that I needed to utilize. *Insert the amazing wall units!!*
A while back I added an over-the-door unit in this pantry for oils, spices, and vitamins, but that wasn’t enough! With over-the-door units, there is an option to drill the post into the wall. I added 2 wall units for dinner items and baking items.
I love that there is still space to walk and move around in here while still providing me with so much storage.
Within both pantries, I love using the OXO Pop Containers and use my label maker for everything from the containers to the baskets on the over-the-door units. In both pantries, I use products from the Ría Safford Collection by iDesign to help contain and store in an aesthetically-pleasing way!
